LED surgery lamp illumination characteristics

Surgery lamp is necessary medical equipment for surgery to light the surgical field, it is required to observe those objects with different depth, size and contrast in incision and body cavity clearly. Because the doctor’s head, hands and instruments may cause interference shadows on surgical field during surgery, surgery lamp is required to eliminate those shadows, and minimize color distortion. At the same time, the surgery lam must also be able to continue working for a long time and maintain low temperature rising state.

Now the mainly surgery lamp light source has 4 kinds: incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, gas discharge lamps and LED lamps. LED light source with those characteristics of energy efficient, cold light source and long lifetime, greatly reduces the irradiation energy in the surgical area, its lifetime is 40 times compared with halogen bulb, energy consumption is about 0.7 times compared with traditional light sources. With the development of LED technology and the improvement of its application level, it is theoretically possible to design different surgery lamps according to different positions of the patient's surgery and doctor position. Therefore LED surgery lamps greatly enhance the level of medical lighting.
